Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Vanilla Review Swatches

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (£22) is one that gets a lot of airtime in the blogosphere. Easily the most hyped-up and talked about high-end concealer, this seems to feature in just about everyone's make up kit. If someone is using a concealer in a tutorial, 90% of the time it is this. I have a real problem with hyped products. I usually have unrealistic expectations and end up disappointed more often than not. However after running out of drugstore concealers to try, and having some N.dulge points under my belt, I finally placed my order.

I chose the shade Vanilla, which is the second from lightest shade. It has a neutral tone that leans almost towards the peachy end of the spectrum, which is great for brightening. I was initially going to get the Urban Decay Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, but from looking at swatches I thought the Nars shades looked like a better colour match. I hit the nail on the head with Vanilla, it is the perfect match for my skin, and works pretty well for both blemishes and the under-eye area. If I wanted something a touch more brightening, I'd choose the lightest shade, Chantilly for under the eyes.

The finish of the Radiant Creamy Concealer is beautiful. True to its name, it leaves a certain lit from within look to the skin. The coverage is fabulous, and really works well to diminish those dark circles. It covers small scale imperfections and redness, and really perfects the skin. However I'd go for something a little less creamy when it comes to the biiig spots (you know the ones, red, sore, and most likely the product of an indulgent squeezing sesh).

Despite having medium to high coverage, I do not find the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer to be cakey, contrary to a few reviews I have read. It blends, almost melts into the skin seamlessly. For the face, I like to use something like the RealTechniques Setting Brush. My favourite method of application for the under-eye area has to be with a beauty sponge (FYI I'd definitely rate the Primark ones over the RealTechniques Miracle Complexion Sponge). I find this to be a weightless concealer, and just looks like a great skin day. I'd even go as far to say that I'd use this all over on lazy days, and I wouldn't have to worry about it looking heavy or greasy.

A few days in and it is pretty safe to say that I am already liking the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer a whole lot more than other concealers in my stash. The matte black packaging feels super luxe, and so does the actual product. For now, it has quenched the never-ending thirst for trying a new concealer. Before trying this concealer, I was wary of spending the £22. I had some money off via my N.dulge points, so it was a pretty risk-free purchase. Now that I have tried the Radiant Creamy Concealer, I can definitely say that it is worth the money, and I'd be intrigued to see whether this product will be in my empties.

Have you tried the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer? Do you think it's worth the hype?
