February Beauty Favourites

Well well well, it's the first blog post of March! The start of March technically means the start of spring, and that pleases me greatly. Although it's been chilly, the sun has actually managed to fight its way through. Another reason to buy the Quay Australia sunglasses that have been on my wishlist for a while... Overly British comments about the weather aside, I want to take a look back over February and share the products I've been loving. There aren't as many as usual as I've not been wearing much makeup. I did make a few beauty-related purchases towards the end of the month, but rest assured, there will be posts on those very soon...

February Beauty Favourites Iconic Pro 2

I had to really think hard about my favourite makeup items. I haven't made many changes to my everyday makeup bag in recent times, but one palette I've been reaching for more and more is my (very well loved) Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette (£6.99). The main reason why I love this is the formula of the matte shades. They are by far some of the best mattes I own. I particularly love the four neutral shades on the top left, especially the peachy shade, New-tral. I've been popping it in the crease for a fresh look. I also love the shimmery dark brown shade, Faith on the bottom right, which I've been using along my lower lash line for a smoky look.

A new purchase was the Master Drama The Nudes Eye Pencil (£4.49) in Brownie Glitz, a new release from Maybelline. This is a really soft and creamy kohl pencil that glides on so easily and has a beautiful metallic finish. The shade is stunning: a warm bronzey copper that really brings out my hazel eyes. I use this either on my waterline or smudged on my top lashes. These pencils set pretty well so you need to be quick if you want some smudging action.

February Beauty Favourites Skincare

As I've worn less makeup, my focus has been very much on skincare this month. I've been trying out a few new releases, some products I've been meaning to pick up for a while, and rediscovering some old favourites. One of those old favourites is Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (£14 for 100ml). It's something I've used sporadically for the past 2 years, and I've been reaching for it a ton this month. It is the most versatile cleanser I own. The eucalyptus scent is perfect for waking you up in the mornings, it's refreshing, soothing, and takes make up off like a dream. If I could only have one cleanser for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

Another cleanser, and this time it's an upcoming release from The Body Shop, the Drops of Light Pure Clarifying Foam Wash*. I actually reviewed this in full last week alongside the Drops of Light Essence, which you can read here. In short this is a lovely cleanser that has a luxuriously rich lather, smells like roses and brightens your skin like you wouldn't believe. I've been reaching for it most mornings and it has been a welcome addition to my skincare routine.

Another relatively new release is the Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner* (full review). I was actually sent this right at the end of January, and even though it was an instant love, I hadn't used it enough to justify a place in the January Favourites. This product takes everything you thought you knew about AHAs and throws that out the window. With the maximum 5% concentration, you'd think this would be harsh on the skin, but the toner is formulated with hyaluronic acid so acts as a moisturising step. It's revolutionary.

I bought the Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil  (£32) back in December, but have only really started to use it properly in the last couple of weeks. Although it is clear my skin is dehydrated when I wear foundation, give me a bare skin day and there would normally be an oil-slick situation within hours. I do feel like this has stopped my skin from being overly oily in the day, as well as nourishing any dehydrated areas (usually my forehead). Did I mention that it smells beeeauutiful? I picked up a couple of other skincare products, so there's a post coming up that involves a whole lotta Clarins fan-girling...

February Beauty Favourites Chloe Love Story

My fragrance favourite for the month is actually a sneak peak of a review that'll be coming in the next few days, but I just couldn't resist sharing it! Chloe Love Story* (£47 for 30ml) is the most beautiful girlie, yet sophisticated floral scent, perfect for spring. For me, the most apparent note is peony, mixed with a hint of the original Chloe Eau de Parfum, which I love. It's been so lovely wearing a more fresh scent now that winter is on it's way out (hopefully!).

I don't often change up my hair products, but a relatively new addition to my routine is the Lush Veganese Conditioner (£4.75 for 100ml). This really wraps the hair in moisture and leaves it looking shiny and healthy. I wasn't expecting it to be so effective as it has quite a thin consistency, but it's the one step in my routine that I really look forward to. The scent isn't my favourite though, so next time I think I'll try the American Dream Conditioner

If you know me, you'll know that I'm lazy as hell, especially when it comes to moisturising my body. With winter at the top of it's game, moisturising is pretty unavoidable. I wanted something that was effective yet unscented, so I could apply at night without it upsetting my delicate, tired head. I picked up the Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion (£5.45) and haven't looked back. It has a lovely texture which dries quickly and keeps my skin soft all day long. Moisturising hasn't been such a chore with this and I actually nabbed a back-up when I saw it on offer in Superdrug.

What have been your favourite products this month?
