Thoughts on a Capsule Wardrobe & Summer Trend Wishlist

Capsule Wardrobe Summer Trend Wishlist

Fashion isn't something I talk about all that much on this blog, because let's face it, it's hella hard to take the photos, right? I thought I'd put together a bit of a rambly post about my current wardrobe, shopping habits and everything I'm lusting after. I actually planned to write a similar post at the start of spring, but that never really happened, so I'm whizzing straight through to summer to chat about what I'm wearing when I've not got my "Monday is a basic bitch" sweater on (legit my favourite thing in life).

Best of Becca Blushed Radiance Kit

Best of Becca Blushed Radiance Kit

Becca Cosmetics is a brand that I was completely new to, so when I saw that the Best of Becca Blushed Radiance Kit was available on Cult Beauty, it went straight into my basket without another thought. Priced at £28 for four travel size products, I thought this would be a great way to try a range of products before committing to a full size. Becca has been the name on everyone's lips since the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop collaboration, but I was wary of spending £30+ on something that could potentially be too warm for my skintone.

Two Ways To Do Fig: Price's Candles

26 May 2016

Price's Candles Fig

It's no secret that my favourite note in any kind of fragrance, be it personal or home, is fig. There's just something about it that is so intriguing to my nose. Price's Candles got in touch and asked whether I'd like to choose a candle to review, and my ears sure pricked up when I saw they had not one but three fig scents to choose from! I chose the Fig & Anise over the Honey & Fig (both from the signature range) as it sounded more fresh which is the kind of fig that I love. I had told the guys at Price's that fig was my favourite note, and they had also thrown in a Fresh Fig small tin, which was really nice of them. I shall have to get the Honey & Fig to complete the set!

Skincare Saviours for Dry Skin (Guest Post by From Fiona)

Skincare Saviours Dry Skin Wishes Hopes Dreams

I invited my lovely friend Fiona from the lifestyle blog From Fiona to guest post on my blog. After a brief chat, we decided to share our go-to products for problem skin. Fiona has dry, eczema-prone skin, so if that's your thing, carry on reading, and I'm sharing my recommendations for combination skin over on Fiona's blog (post here). For now, it's over to Fiona...

5 Budget Brushes That Will Up Your Makeup Game

22 May 2016

I'm all for a beauty post, but something I haven't spoken about all that much on this blog is brushes. I do have quite a lot of brushes, yet I only really use a small handful out of my stereotypical blogger Ikea plant pot brush pot. I've found a set of brushes that really work, so I haven't felt the need to go out and spend money on new sets with rose gold handles (Zoeva) or those with mermaid-esque bristles, housed in a clamshell case (Spectrum). Don't get tempted. I repeat, don't get tempted!

Kylie Lip Kit in Candy K: Pale Skin Swatches & UK Alternatives

21 May 2016

Kylie Jenner. Whether you're a Kardashian fan or not, it's safe to say, if you haven't heard of her Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits by now, you're living under a rock. First launched back in November 2015, the brand has since caused quite a stir, with their limited stock, new shade launches and dodgy lipgloss brushes. Despite the controversy, they are still the product on everyone's lips. I'm sure you've read a million and one Kylie Lip Kit reviews by now, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw my thoughts on the table.

Behind The Brew: Teami Energy

20 May 2016

Teami Blends is a brand that promotes health and wellness with the tag line "It's not just tea, it's a lifestyle". After my horrific experience with Slendertox Tea last year, I vowed never again to drink a detox tea, so was pleased to see some varieties that naturally gives benefits like energy and relaxation using natural ingredients.

15 Thoughts I Had While Watching "Miss England: A Serious Business"

16 May 2016

Miss England A Serious Business

At the start of the month, I was kindly invited down to the première of the documentary Miss England: A Serious Business at The Curve theatre in the cultural quarter of Leicester. The event played host to 200 guests, with welcome drinks, a performance from Leicester's Got Talent winner Lydia Unsudimi and beauty queens on the red carpet. It was a very weird experience being "papped", that's for sure!

The Fluid Nature of Escentric Molecules Molecule 01

13 May 2016

 Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 Review

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01. The singular note Iso E Super, diluted and bottled. Hailed as something extraordinary, this minimalist take on fragrance has been noted as something of a cult classic. Created by Swedish perfumer Geza Schöen in 1990, in an attempt to create the ultimate skin-scent, people have even been stopped in the street because of it.

Maybelline Summer 2016 New Product Launches!

11 May 2016

Maybelline Summer 2016 #MaybellineSquad

I've always loved Maybelline as a brand. They have been one of my go-tos ever since I started wearing makeup. Dream Matte Mousse anyone? That aside, so many of their products have become favourites. I'm a particular fan of their brow products, their gel liner and mascaras. I love how they have a solid repertoire of products that work, and as a brand, they aren't afraid to take risks, all whilst maintaining an affordable price point.

The First Days of Summer with JewelleryBox

9 May 2016

JewelleryBox is one of those brands that I had seen on countless blogs so when an email from their lovely PR pinged into my inbox, I was really excited! JewelleryBox is an online accessories brand based in South London, who specialise in gorgeously understated pieces for the price of costume jewellery. One of the things that I love about the brand is the adorable packaging! Each piece of jewellery comes in a cute little brown box, adorned with the logo, and inside you have the jewellery on a card with a little colourful peg! The packaging just makes the brand really stand out and it's so Instagrammable!

Body Fantasies Body Mists

7 May 2016

Body Fantasies Pink Grapefruit Fantasy

Having never been to the US, I hadn't heard about Body Fantasies until all the blog posts started rolling in upon the brand's UK launch at the beginning of this year. It seems to be somewhat a cult brand, alongside all those others we can't get in England: Bath & Body Works, Color Pop, Sephora... As a self-confessed fragrance obsessive, I knew I had to get my hands on these affordable alternatives to the Victoria Secret body mists!

Kringle Candle Royal Cherries

6 May 2016

Kringle Candle Royal Cherries Love Aroma

Kringle Candle is one of those home fragrance brands that I had heard about and always assumed we couldn't get it in the UK. I had no idea that the brand was actually available in Love Aroma. I have tried quite a number of candle brands through writing this blog, and it was about time I checked Kringle Candle off my list. I received the Royal Cherries Medium Jar* (£19.99) to test out (link is to the large jar) from the extremely generous guys at Love Aroma. Check out the first two posts I did for them here and here.

Brain Dump | Behind The Blog #4

4 May 2016

Behind The Blog. Usually the post where I wax lyrical about my monthly blog achievements, share my most popular content and generally drown in self-love. This month, it's a little different...
