June Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites

So another month has passed, and another favourites post begins with an exclamation of how fast the year's going/how it's nearly Christmas... I fell out of love with doing favourites posts, but this month I felt like I have so much to share! June was the month that I finally launched my YouTube channel, and I've made a June Favourites video, so if you'd rather watch that, click here, or carry on reading if you prefer it in blog post form.

My first favourite has to be the Bloggers Ball (read the post) organised by Scarlett London events. I hopped on the train down to London and met the wonderful Emily from Emily Loula. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing brands, and even vlogged my day, which you can watch here. On the day, I chose to wear some stick on nails from the Primark P.S. Pro range and I got so many compliments on them! They were great as they were still quite neutral. A lot of the time, the jazzy false nail designs don't really appeal to me. The length was also great, not too long so you are left without the use of your hands. I did have to buy some nail glue when I got to London, but overall I was really impressed.

I picked up the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick months ago, but I forgot about it and whipped it out of my stash for the first time this month. I found it really long lasting. Not completely transfer-proof, but it withstands food and drink for a decent amount of time and isn't too drying on the lips. I'm not normally a red lips kinda gal but I really enjoyed wearing this and I've been reaching for it a lot. I'd love to get some of the more nude shades in the range.

After the Bloggers Ball, we somehow slipped and fell into the Illamasqua store and I became instantly infatuated with the Beyond Powder Highlight (£32) in OMG. A beautiful pale gold baked powder that can be built up from a radiant glow to full on sunbeam. It suits my skin tone perfectly, where others can be a bit too warm (Becca Opal), and I don't think I've ever been so happy about a beauty purchase. I recommend using this with something like the Real Techniques Setting Brush rather than a fan brush to get the most glowy look, or even try it with a damp brush.

This month I've really been experimenting with cream products. I've been loving cream blushes, cream contour products, cream bronzer... The one product I've really fell for however is a cream highlight once I realised that the Beauty Blender was the perfect tool for application. I particularly love the cream in the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette (£9.99). It gives the most gorgeous, natural, lit from within look, or makes the perfect base for your powder highlight.

One of the things that has made it's way into my everyday makeup bag this month is the Becca Backlight Priming Filter (£32). I got it a few months ago in the Best of Becca Blushed Radiance set (review here), and I didn't overly love it as a primer as it accentuated my pores. I tried it mixed in with my foundation and I was in love! This way, I can still use a mattifying primer, and it gives the most gorgeous luminous finish to my base. It actually puts the glow in NARS Sheer Glow! I've only got a mini of the Backlight Priming Filter, and I'm dreading the moment I run out of it!

Last on the makeup front is the GWA Natural Palette (£8.99), which I won in their Twitter giveaway. This has 12 shadows, in a mix of matte, shimmer and metallic finishes. This has the most gorgeous combination of shades. There's lots of rose gold, bronze and copper shades, and there are some stunning lid shades. The formula of the metallic shadows is just stunning. Super buttery, creamy and insanely pigmented, this is such a bargain for the price!

I have never won anything in my life before this month, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to also win Sophie's giveaway of some Body Shop Pinita Colada products. I reviewed them in full here, but I just wanted to mention the Creamy Body Scrub (£15) and the Body Butter (£14) again as they are just so amazing! The whole range smells absolutely incredible, because who doesn't want to smell like a pina colada? The scrub actually looks like the cocktail, with it's thin, creamy consistency and shredded coconut exfoliants. It packs a surprising amount of scrub and it leaves the skin feeling really soft, especially if you follow with the body butter which is really thick and nourishing.

Where a scrub really comes in handy is when you're wearing fake tan. I picked up a new one this month after hearing so much about the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold (£14.99). This is a dry oil that smells like coconuts so is a treat to apply. It is so nourishing, which helps to make the tan look as natural as possible and doesn't transfer onto your bed sheets. Being an oil, it dries very quickly, doesn't stink too much and doesn't even need to be washed off so you can apply it in the morning if you prefer. It really takes the chore out of fake tan! The lovely Lydia Elise Millen has a video on how to apply this, which is so useful and I'd recommend checking that out before using this for the first time.

Of course I have a perfume favourite and this month it's been Chloe Love Story* (from £48). I've had this for months but have been reaching for this all the time recently. It just smells so chic and feminine with it's orange blossom, jasmine and rose notes. I adore the bottle too. It is based on the love locks on the Pont des Arts in Paris, and I just love having it out on display on my dresser. I reviewed Love Story in full here if you fancy reading more about it.

This month I did a lot of damage in Holland & Barrett in an attempt to get a little healthier. While I was there, I discovered the Pip & Nut Coconut Almond Butter. This is a sweeter version of standard almond butter (which I'm not the hugest fan of) and tastes absolutely amazing on toast. It's been my go-to breakfast, and if you know me, you'll know that I'm not a breakfast person.

I also came across the Pumpkin Seed 9 Bars. I've been back to buy another 5-6 bars since my first one as they make the perfect snack to chuck in your handbag. They're a bit like a healthy flapjack, with mixed seeds and hemp, bound together with rice syrup to give it a lovely natural sweetness. I also picked up a snack pack of the Raw Chocolate Co. Raw Chocolate Mulberries. These taste a little like chocolate raisins and the mulberries have a sweet, sticky, toffee like taste and texture. They are very indulgent and satisfy those evening chocolate cravings perfectly.

Last but not least is a candle favourite. I haven't been as obsessed with candles lately because candle overload... However Yankee Candle Fireside Treats has really reignited my love for candles. It is the most perfect sweet toasted marshmallow scent that isn't at all overpowering. It is really relaxing and it has become my go-to for burning before I go to sleep.

I hope you've enjoyed my June Favourites! I'll leave my video below in case you want to check it out, I'll send you Internet hugs if you subscribe and it means you'll be the first to hear about my new uploads. I've also got a giveaway running at the moment, so if you fancy winning a beautiful M&J London English Summer candle you can click here.

What's been your favourite thing about June?
